What are the types of strut channel?

What is strut channel:

Strut channel provides light structural support for wiring, plumbing, or mechanical components. It has inward-facing lips for mounting nuts, braces, or connecting angles to join lengths of strut channels together. It is also used to connect pipes, wire, threaded rods, or bolts to walls. Most strut channel has slots in the base to facilitate interconnection or to fasten the strut channel to building structures.

Strut channel is easy to connect and modify, and different channel styles can be mixed and matched. It's commonly used in the electrical and construction industries. Strut channel can be used to create a permanent structure that supports wiring around a property, or it can temporarily store different types of machinery and wires for short-term projects.

Types of strut channels:

The basic component of the support strut system is strut channel, which is a slotted steel mounting rail used for making steel frames and fixtures. It has five common types: Slotted Strut Channels, Punched Holes Strut Channels, Solid Walls Strut Channels, Slotted Back-to-Back Strut Channels and Side-to-Side Strut Channels.

1、Slotted Strut Channels

These strut channels have slots along the base at regular intervals for interconnections, fastening to walls, or bolting on accessories. They support wiring, plumbing, and mechanical components in electrical and construction applications.

2、Punched Holes Strut Channels

These strut channels have punched holes along the base at regular intervals that fit threaded rods and bolts. Threaded rods are used with hangers and clips to hang conduit. These strut channels support wiring, plumbing, and mechanical components in electrical and construction applications.

3、Solid Walls Strut Channels

These strut channels have solid walls, so they’re ideal for sections that don’t require fittings or accessories. They also provide a cleaner appearance than slotted strut channels. These strut channels support wiring, plumbing, and mechanical components in electrical and construction applications.

4、Slotted Back-to-Back Strut Channels

These strut channels have a one-piece construction that combines two channels back-to-back for additional strength. They don't require any onsite welding and are ideal for frameworks that require stronger structural integrity than standard strut channels. They’re slotted to allow for interconnections, fastening to walls, or bolting on accessories. These channels support wiring, plumbing, and mechanical components in electrical and construction applications.

5、Side-to-Side Strut Channels

These strut channels have a one-piece construction that combines two channels side-to-side for additional strength. They don't require any onsite welding and are ideal for frameworks that require stronger structural integrity than standard strut channels. These channels support wiring, plumbing, and mechanical components in electrical and construction applications.
