How To Choose A Cable Tray Style

Choosing the appropriate cable tray is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of the cable system. The selection of cable tray styles needs to consider multiple factors, including cable type and quantity, environmental factors, support and installation conditions, etc. Here are some specific selection suggestions:

1、 Cable type and quantity

Slot type cable tray: suitable for occasions where cables are concentrated and require high cable protection. The trough type cable tray has a closed trough structure, which can effectively prevent cable damage, especially suitable for indoor and outdoor cable laying without considering heat dissipation.

Tray tray: suitable for scenarios with fewer cables and lighter weight. The tray bridge structure is simple, easy to install, and there are heat dissipation holes at the bottom of the groove, which is suitable for occasions that require certain heat dissipation.

Ladder style cable tray: suitable for scenarios with a wide variety of cable types and complex wiring. Ladder style cable trays have good ventilation, facilitate cable heat dissipation, and strong load capacity, making them suitable for laying cables with larger diameters.

2、 Environmental factors

Corrosive environment: In highly corrosive environments, corrosion-resistant cable trays should be selected, such as hot air cable trays, aluminum alloy cable trays, or composite epoxy resin anti-corrosion and flame-retardant cable trays.

Outdoor environment: When using outdoors, the weather resistance and waterproof performance of the bridge frame should be considered, and hot-dip galvanized steel bridge frames or stainless steel bridge frames can be selected.

Special environment: In situations where there are special fire prevention requirements, steel or non combustible, flame-retardant materials must be used for bridge trays.

3、 Support and installation conditions

Load capacity: Select the appropriate bridge width and load-bearing capacity according to the actual wiring needs. Avoid excessive or insufficient load to ensure system stability.

Installation spacing: When installing brackets, pay attention to the spacing, as being too large or too small may affect the load-bearing performance of the bridge. Usually, the short span for indoor support and suspension is 1.53m. The configuration of supports and hangers for non-linear sections should follow certain principles. For example, when the width of the bridge is less than 300mm, a support or hanger should be installed on the side of the straight section at a distance of 300600mm from the junction of the non-linear section and the straight section; When the width of the bridge is greater than 300mm, in addition to meeting certain conditions, a support or hanger should be added in the middle of the non-linear section.

Layout conditions: Consider the layout conditions of the bridge, such as support distance, expansion joints, etc. Expansion joints of 20-30mm (metal bridge) should be left every 50m in the straight section of the bridge.

4、 Other factors

Material selection: Choose suitable bridge materials according to specific needs, such as steel bridge with high load-bearing capacity and corrosion resistance, and aluminum alloy bridge that is lightweight and corrosion-resistant, suitable for lighter load applications.

Easy to maintain: Choose bridge types that are easy to disassemble and inspect, facilitating later maintenance and cable replacement.

Compliance with standards: Select cable trays that comply with national or industry standards to ensure their quality and safety. At the same time, certified products should be selected to ensure that their performance meets the design requirements.

In summary, the selection of cable tray styles should comprehensively consider cable types and quantities, environmental factors, support and installation conditions, and other relevant factors. By making reasonable choices, it is possible to ensure that the cable tray meets practical usage needs and improve the safety and reliability of the cable system.
