American Standard Galvanized Conduits: Compliant Mixed Use for Overseas Projects

For projects following North American electrical standards, including mechanical & electrical works, factories and commercial buildings, compliance of mixed conduit usage is critical for inspection approval. Our UL-listed American standard galvanized steel conduits cover EMT, IMC and RMC. Manufactured in accordance with NEC codes, they allow proper combined application, balancing construction flexibility, electrical safety and cost control.

IMC (Intermediate Metal Conduit) and RMC (Rigid Metal Conduit) share identical thread specs and are made of hot-dip galvanized carbon steel. They can be directly connected with interchangeable fittings under normal conditions. RMC is adopted for outdoor locations and areas subject to heavy impact, while lightweight IMC is used in regular zones to cut costs without sacrificing protection.

EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) is lightweight and bendable, perfect for concealed wiring in ceilings and walls. Do NOT tap threads on EMT on site. With UL-listed transition couplings, EMT can connect with IMC/RMC within the same circuit to meet NEC requirements and avoid rework.

Uniform galvanized coating minimizes galvanic corrosion. For coastal, chemical and heavily corrosive environments, a single conduit type is recommended. A full range of UL-certified fittings such as elbows, locknuts, transition couplings and junction boxes are available. Note: American standard conduits cannot be directly connected with Chinese SC/JDG conduits due to different dimensions and threads.
