Advantages and disadvantages of EMT conduit fittings made of zinc alloy and electroplated zinc materials

Zinc alloy accessories:

Advantages: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant (suitable for dry environments), smooth surface.

Disadvantages: Low strength (easy to deform), not resistant to high temperatures, expensive, not suitable for high salt or humid environments.

Electroplated galvanized accessories:

Advantages: high strength, low cost, high temperature resistance, rust proof coating (generally in humid environments).

Disadvantages: Heavy weight, easy scratching and rusting of the coating, long-term oxidation and whitening, not suitable for strong corrosive environments.

Indoor/light-duty use of zinc alloy, outdoor/high-strength use of electroplated zinc, coastal or chemical plants are recommended to use stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized.
